About SITCM

Established in 1989, the Sydney Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SITCM) is Australia’s longest-standing higher education institution dedicated to TCM, with a proud 36-year heritage.

In 2012, SITCM became an accredited higher education provider offering a four-year Bachelor program in TCM and Acupuncture, enabling graduates to obtain three professional licenses: TCM practitioner, acupuncturist, and Chinese herbal dispenser.

SITCM’s degree and professional qualifications are recognized by the Ministry of Education of China and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (NATCM).

Clinical Excellence

SITCM places strong emphasis on clinical training and is well known for its expertise in TCM treatments, attracting a large number of self-paying patients—both Chinese and non-Chinese—outside Australia’s national healthcare system.

The institute has earned a solid reputation for managing common and chronic conditions and is particularly recognized for its distinctive contributions to supportive care for cancer patients, drawing significant attention from the local community.

Cancer Support Program

Thanks to the generous support of the Siyuan Tang Charity Foundation, SITCM has launched the TCM Cancer Support Program, with total funding of AUD 90,000.

Subsidy Coverage

Eligible cancer patients at the SITCM Clinic receive a (50\%) subsidy on:

Consultation fees

TCM and acupuncture treatment fees

Chinese herbal medicine costs

This program aims to make high-quality TCM care more accessible and affordable, supporting cancer patients in improving their well-being and quality of life.
